Founded in 2004, The Karen Knowles Singing School has helped hundreds of people become confident singers. We’ve seen some of our students fulfill lifelong dreams of starting their own bands, performing at local venues and being accepted into prestigious schools, including WAAPA.
The classes and workshops focus on finding your own authentic voice, and our students build confidence in both singing and life skills. Every class is customized to the individual student’s goals.
We have a range of classes and workshops suitable for children, beginners, adults and professionals and lead on to working with some students in the recording studio producing and bringing to life student compositions. Karen’s extensive background and vocal training includes 7 years classical training, 5 years music theatre training and a 30-year performance career spanning television, theatre and in concert performances.
We offer sessions for all levels and ages with a focus on individual one-on-one sessions, delivered online and a range of workshops.
Types of classes we offer
Online Vocal Coaching
Our online vocal coaching delivered remotely allows students to participate in classes from the comfort of their own home. Class times range from 30-60 minutes and can be arranged weekly or fortnightly. Individual coaching offers the most tailored training to reach specific goals and needs, such as opening to your authentic voice or an audition or upcoming performance. We cover vocal skills, breathing, tone, placement and range, and explore the style of music your voice is naturally suited to while you learn so much about yourself in the process.
Trial Classes for New Students
Excited but a little nervous about signing up for singing classes? At Karen Knowles Singing School, we understand that the thought of singing in front of other people can be daunting! Don’t worry – we offer trial packs for new students, so you can see what it’s all about before committing to becoming a regular student.

Term Dates
Our term dates for school aged children generally run as per the public school term. For adults we run classes throughout the year. If children would like to continue classes throughout the school holidays we are happy to arrange this.

Payments
For our regular bookings we require a yearly commitment for all individual classes (as for most private schools). Once a trial period is completed we can arrange a monthly or fortnightly regular periodic payment and classes require payments one month in advance. You have the option to pay by credit/debit card vie Paypal or Stripe through this website or via EFT directly to our bank account (no fees) – details below.
For our students with annual bookings, payments are preferred by EFT.

Due to scheduling of teachers and venues payments must be received in advance or for new students one month prior to term classes or workshops commencing.
