Working with Musicians Workshop
Congratulations to the participants in our most recent Working with Musicians Workshop. It was a wonderful day of learning and fun - newcomers enjoyed themselves immensely and there was another step up by the people who have participated before. Thanks to the wonderful musos for their generosity and skill and thanks to the students for their willingness to try new things and open themselves up to new challenges bringing a great sense of achievement. Age range was 9 to 60(ish)!
Holistic Voice Group
Karen Knowles Singing School is now running a weekly Holistic Voice Group for adults at the Hawthorn Community House on Tuesdays at 7.30 pm. This is a new type of class designed for people interested in gaining overall well being from singing. Designed as a class that "comes to you" it requires no previous experience just an interest in finding your inner voice. A really nurturing space to explore - for everyone who has dreamed about the joy of singing and self expression, or who wants to discover it!
Congratulations to Stephanie Hubble
Congratulations to Stephanie Hubble who was amongst the final three young singers chosen from the hundreds of vocal submissions for the Victorian singer of the Natiuonal Anthem for the Australia Day Council Victoria in 2009. Stephanie has been learning with Karen Knowles for a few years and originally bgan individsual tuition at the Hawthorn venue. Stephanie also enjoys regularly attending the Working with Musicians workshops. Stephanie really enjoyed the experience and has been encouraged by the organisers to make another submission next year.
School Concerts
Once again our concerts will be held at the same wonderful venue - the New Capers, Melbourne. We look forward to seeing the new students in action and to seeing the continuing progress of our exisiting students. The performance workshop run by Karen Knowles prior to the concerts is also held at the New Capers venue.
