As well as being a singer, Karen is a trained lawyer. Karen trained and practiced law at one of Australia's largest and most prestigious law firms, Blake Dawson Waldron. Karen is available to meet with students to provide direction, industry advice and if necessary refer matters on to other specialist lawyers once she has assessed the issue in question and decided which direction is the most appropriate in all the circumstances.

Clients she has worked for as an entertainment business consultant and lawyer include: The Four Kinsmen (leading performance group); Bill Davidson Promotions (promoter), Wilson Davidson Entertainment "Rhythm of the Dance" Australian Tour 2005), Carla Wilson (manager/promoter), Dean Cannon (entertainer), Mathew Anastasi (film composer)and various blue chip clients during her time at Blake Dawson Waldron.
